💬 嵐の曲について
1.
［嵐ファン］Please name one song you instantly loved when you heard it for the very first time.
初めて聴いたときに、すぐに好きになった曲を1つ挙げてください。
［DJ Kevin］So many! But I recall the most overwhelming “wow” factor came when I first heard “Circle”. It has such an all-world sound that has elements of pop, EDM and R&B/Soul. The way the drums crash through in the intro leading to a smooth first verse….perfection! I remember playing it over and over that first night and then setting it on repeat for my entire workout the next morning.
どれも良い曲ですが、「Circle」を初めて聴いたときは「ワオ！」と圧倒的に感動しました。ポップス、EDM、R&B、ソウルの音楽要素を併せ持つ、オールワールド的なサウンド。イントロのドラム・クラッシュからスムーズな歌い出しにつながる感じ......完璧です！この曲を見つけた夜は何度も何度も再生し、翌朝のワークアウト中もずっとこの曲ばかりリピートしていたのを覚えています。

［嵐ファン］Please name one song you weren't impressed at first but grew to love as you repeated.
最初は印象に残らなかったけど、繰り返すうちに好きになった曲を1つ挙げてください。
［DJ Kevin］“Love so sweet” did not move me at first, but over time as I heard it more and listened closely, I came to appreciate the charming tone of ARASHI’s voices in unison as well as the dreamy, orchestral type of music supporting it. The living mannequin concept in the music video also won me over. Extremely innovative. Now it stands in my personal Top 10 of ARASHI songs!
「Love so sweet」は最初それほど印象的ではなかったのですが、聴きこむうちに、ARASHIのユニゾンの声の魅力とそれを支えるドリーミーでオーケストラチックな楽曲のすばらしさに惹きこまれていった曲です。メンバーがマネキンという非常に斬新なMVのコンセプトにも惹かれました。今ではARASHIの曲の中でも、私個人のお気に入りトップ10に入る曲です。

［嵐ファン］Please name one song you'd recommend to your friends who have never listened to Arashi before.
今まで嵐を聴いたことがない友人に勧めたい曲を1つ挙げてください。
［DJ Kevin］I would definitely recommend “Turning Up” because I’ve noticed people are more receptive to new music discovery with uptempo/dance type songs…especially with catchy choruses they can sing along to. Also, with the chorus being partially in English, I believe they would definitely gravitate to the illuminating sounds of “Turning Up”.
「Turning Up」を勧めると思います。特にアップテンポの曲やダンス系の曲は、初めて聴く曲でもすんなりと受け入れ易いし、サビの一部が英語になっているので、キャッチーで一緒に口ずさめるのがいい感じです。「Turning Up」のような明るいサウンドの虜になる人も多いのではないでしょうか。

［嵐ファン］As the social media plays an important part for the music industry, a song that was released years ago might be discovered to go viral. As a music producer, which one song do you believe would make a mega hit in the US?
音楽業界ではSNSが重要な役割を担っており、何年も前に発表された曲が発掘されて大流行になることもあります。音楽プロデューサーとして、アメリカでメガヒットを飛ばすと思う嵐の曲はどれですか？
［DJ Kevin］I believe that “Whenever You Call” has the makings of a huge hit in the U.S. Aside from the fact that it’s in complete English, the fact that it was written by Bruno Mars would carry significant weight in the U.S. as he is in the upper echelon of artists here. Plus, musically, it’s an incredible song. It contains all the components of a hit, amazing instrumentation, dynamic vocal performances by ARASHI and the lyrics are full of loving vibes. I could see it becoming a popular wedding song or date night “go-to” for couples. ARASHI’s voices sound so angelic together and their individual parts are equally magnificent. Accompanied by a slick choreographed video that groups of people would surely mimic on social media, “Whenever You Call’ would be a bona fide viral dance challenge. Even Bruno Mars said himself he was trying to learn “the guys’ moves in the video”. I will admit I have tried to copy the steps as well lol.
「Whenever You Call」は、米国で大ヒットする可能性があると思います。完全な英語曲であることも要因ですが、ブルーノ・マーズが手掛けたということは、アメリカで著名なアーティストであるだけに、大きなウェイトを占めるでしょう。しかも、音楽的にも素晴らしい楽曲です。超一流の演奏、ARASHIのダイナミックなボーカル、そして愛にあふれた歌詞と、ヒットの要素がすべて詰まっていると言えます。この曲は、結婚式やデートの定番曲として、カップルの間で好まれる曲だと思います。ARASHIの歌声はまるで天使のようで、それぞれのパートも素晴らしいです。「Whenever You Call」は、SNSでも多くの人が真似をしたくなる素敵な振り付けのMVも魅力で、まさにバズりそうなダンスチャレンジとなることでしょう。ブルーノ・マーズ本人が「MV中の嵐の振り付け」を覚えようとしていると言っていましたが、実は私もステップを真似して踊ってみた事があります。(笑)
