💬 はじめに

The Internet radio station Your Hits Digital is located in the fashionable coastal town in West Sussex, England, about two hours south of the capital city London. This relatively new radio station, launched in 2021, offers free programs all day by great DJs who have roots in the UK and Ireland. The station is very popular among a wide range of listeners for its all genre selection of songs from the 50's to the latest hits, including DJ. Derek's program in which he takes requests from listeners worldwide. Since ARASHI's "Turning Up" was first aired on January 14, 2023, DJ. Derek has been playing one or two ARASHI songs on each of his programs. As you can see in his photos on the site's homepage and social media, DJ. Derek is a cool and charming veteran DJ of Irish descent. Recently, in addition to Your Hits Digital, DJ. Derek has started playing ARASHI songs on Naas Radio Online, an internet radio station in Naas, Ireland. Your Hits Digital というインターネットラジオ局は、英国首都のロンドンを車で２時間ほど南下したウェスト・サセックスの、お洒落な海沿いの街にあります。2021年に開設した比較的新しいラジオ局ですが、イギリスとアイルランドにルーツを持つ選りすぐりのDJ達による番組が年中無休で無料配信されています。50年代の名曲から最新のヒット曲まで、ジャンルに拘らない選曲で繰り広げられる番組構成は幅広いリスナー層にとても人気で、その中でもDerekさんがリスナーからのリクエスト曲をかける番組は世界中で人気です。 嵐の 「Turning Up」 が2023年１月14日に初オンエアされて以来、DJ. Derekさん担当の各番組では嵐の曲を1〜2曲ずつ毎回オンエアしてくださっています。サイトのホームページやＳＮＳにもお写真が掲載されていますが、生粋のアイルランド人でチャーミングなイケオジのDerekさん、ベテランのDJさんでもあります。最近では、Your Hits Digital のラジオ番組以外にも、アイルランドのネースにあるインターネットラジオ局 Naas Radio Online の番組でも嵐の曲をかけて頂いています。嵐ファンが聞いてみたいと思った質問の答えと共に、ご提供いただいた写真もぜひお楽しみください。

［嵐ファン］What is your most favorite ARASHI song and tell us why. 

嵐の曲の中で、一番お気に入りの曲とその理由を教えてください。 

［DJ Derek］Face Down : I like the story of the song and how he is in the dark not knowing what to expect on the other side. Like some people who don't have confidence in themselves. Don't be afraid to excel. 

「Face Down」ですね。自分がまるで、何が起こるかわからない暗闇の中にでも囚われているようなストーリー性が気に入ってます。自分に自信を持てない人っていると思うけど、乗り越えて成功することを恐れてはいけないんだなと感じさせてくれる曲です。

［嵐ファン］On ARASHI's official YouTube channel, two of their concerts, "UNTITLED" from 2017 and "Arafes 2012" are posted. How would you enjoy ARASHI's live performance, if you ever had a chance to go? 

嵐の公式YouTubeチャンネルには、ライブ動画『untitled』と『アラフェス2012』の２本がアップされています。もし嵐のライブに行けたら、どんなふうに楽しみたいですか？ 

［DJ Derek］I would have loved to see them live, they are so energetic on stage and each song has a tremendous story to it. Great beat and rhythm to their songs. 

嵐のライブは是非とも観てみたいです。ステージ上のメンバーはとてもエネルギッシュだし、どの曲にももの凄く素敵なストーリーがありますよね。素晴らしいビートとリズムでノリノリのライブを楽しんでみたいと思います。

［嵐ファン］Thinking from a DJ's perspective, which one of the ARASHI songs would be popular in Ireland? 

DJ目線で考えてみて、アイルランドで人気が出そうな嵐の曲はどれでしょう？ 

［DJ Derek］Love So Sweet. Original of Love so sweet is so loving and slow and then Reborn one is uptempo so both songs appeal to us here. And I've had requests for both of them. 

「Love so sweet」です。オリジナルの曲はとても愛に溢れたスローな曲で、Rebornの曲はアップテンポな曲だから、アイルランドでは２曲とも合わせて魅力的に感じる人が多いと思います。そういえば、どちらの曲もリクエストをたくさん頂いている曲ですね。

［嵐ファン］ARASHI's album "Love" contains five solo songs by each member. Please tell us your impression of them. 

嵐のアルバム『Love』には、嵐のメンバー5人それぞれのソロ曲が入っています。どういった印象をお持ちですか？ 

［DJ Derek］They are all great songs with different meanings to them . For each singer has put his own perspective on the song by making it his own. 

どれも違う世界観を持っていて、それぞれが素晴らしい曲ですね。メンバーがソロ曲を自分なりの視点で捉えて自分のものにしていると感じます。
